Frequently asked questions
The internet makes buying a puppy directly from an breeder very convenient. It’s worked out well for us since we’ve began advertising this way, we’ve been able to find great homes for our pups all across the US.
To help us keep our puppies free of contagious disease, you will be picking out your puppy through pictures on our website or email if you have one reserved ahead of time. If you placed a deposit the remaining balance will be due when the puppy is 6 weeks old. Your deposit will be subtracted from the remaining amount due. For your safety, we use Paypal to collect our payments, a 3% processing fee will be added. We will also accept certain money orders.
Puppies can begin going into new homes at 8 weeks of age and we have a few delivery options available for you. We will meet you at the MSP [Minneapolis] airport [flying customers only] or Carver MN [Twin Cities area customers] to pickup your puppy in person for a $200 travel fee [7 hrs of driving round trip if roads and traffic are good]. Or you can ship your puppy through the airlines for an additional $450 which will include airfare, travel kennel and airline required health certificates. If shipping isn’t needed, we can meet you at either Sanborn MN, Granite Falls MN, Worthington MN, Brookings SD or Sioux Falls SD for no charge. To adopt a puppy, use the Paypal “buy now” button by the puppy, we will then contact you to arrange delivery arrangements.
If shipping your puppy, we take care of all the necessary arrangements for you. They are shipped via the airlines- weekdays only, typically Tuesday-Friday, depending on flight availability with either Delta or United. These airlines have treated our puppies very well in the past and we feel confident using them. The puppy will be vet checked no earlier than 10 days before flying and a valid state health certificate will be issued stating he/she is healthy to travel. The pup will arrive at your local international airport. You will be given all the specific pick-up details after your flight is booked.
Sign up for our email list at the bottom of our website. If you place a deposit on our waiting list, you will be contacted via email with new litters as well. 🙂
Yes, we have up to a 2 year congenital/hereditary health guarantee. Please read our sales contract for details on what’s covered.
Your new puppy will be used to eating Life’s Abundance dry dog food which can be ordered through us on our site to receive the extended 2 yr. health guarantee. If you adopt a mini pup, order the small/medium breed puppy food system, if you adopt a standard size pup, order the large breed puppy food system. One large bag of their current food is required regardless to bring them home on. Switching foods at young ages is very hard on their digestive system and they’ll already have an adjustment with water change.
All our pups receive age appropriate basic puppy vaccines. You’ll be given a health record listing the vaccines and dates of wormings for you to give to your vet. It’s very important to understand that puppies are not fully immunized until all the shots have been completed in the series through 18 weeks of age. You shouldn’t socialize your pup around strange dogs until then. Be careful when walking them to avoid other dog waste during this time. Please do not take your pup to dog parks or pet stores until it is safe to do so!
Very much so, they’re handled multiple times a day once old enough. Kids of all ages play with the puppies at our house! This makes for a nice well-rounded puppy.
An F1 Bernedoodle is a first generation puppy bred between a purebred Bernese Mt Dog and a purebred standard Poodle.
Bernedoodles shed much less than a Bernese Mt Dog, they will have a longer lifespan than the average Berner. They’re mixed with the intelligence of a Poodle and the loveable charm everyone desires from a Berner!
They will range in size from 50-70 lbs typically but of course can get larger but this is our average. We offer standard and mini Bernedoodles at this time. Mini size ranges 40-60 lbs. We do not offer tiny bernedoodles at this time.
No Bernedoodles are a mixed breed and therefore cannot be registered with a purebred kennel club as they are not a recognized breed at this point. Perhaps in time they will be recognized with the AKC as they become more popular. However all of our adults are registered with the AKC, DNA’d, health and temperament tested for the best possible Bernedoodle puppies! We also occasionally have purebred BMD and Poodle litters available for homes.
